How do I know if RAIR can download electronic log data from my EOBR provider?
RAIR currently downloads EOBR data from Qualcomm, WebTech, DriverTech, and PeopleNet.
How frequently does RAIR receive my electronic log data?
This varies slightly by provider. With Qualcomm, for example, we download data every three minutes, acquiring one thousand changes of duty status with each download.
How long does it take for my electronic log data to appear on RAIR’s site?
Typically, your electronic log data will appear on our site in 24 hours from the time we receive it. Occasionally, this may take longer depending on the backlog of data pending publishing. A backlog occurs or grows when there are huge downloads, connectivity issues, or planned maintenance at either RAIR or the data provider.
Why can’t I edit my electronic logs using the edit tool on RAIR’s website?
RAIR only publishes information received from data provider. To modify an electronic log, you must go to the source of the data. For example, you can modify your Qualcomm e-log using the Qualcomm site, and then we will automatically publish the modified log.
Will we have duplicate logs if we use both paper and electronic logs?
Duplicates only occur when an electronic log comes in after the paper log. This is not typical, as delivery of paper logs takes longer than electronic downloads of e-log data. A paper log that comes after an electronic log replaces that electronic log.
Some clients like to have and review both electronic and paper logs. Your account manager can change our default settings to allow duplicates.
What are the advantages of using electronic logs instead of paper logs in RAIR’s system?
Here are some of the advantages:
Faster processing time. Paper logs require 24-48 hours of processing time, while electronic logs typically require only 24 hours.
Greater accuracy. Paper logs must be “read” using optical character recognition technology. While RAIR’s system is the most accurate in the industry, sometime errors do occur. Electronic logs have even greater accuracy because OCR “reading” is unnecessary.
Validation by the minute. Paper logs are validated in 15 minute increments, where electronic logs are validated every minute. This improves the accuracy of log auditing data.
Monitoring of personal conveyance. Some electronic logging clients allow their drivers to record off duty driving as personal conveyance or Line 5 driving. RAIR’s Personal Conveyance report helps identify suspicious activity that may indicate an attempt to extend daily driving time.
