Why RAIR?

While other companies scramble to figure out how to manage CSA, it is business as usual at RAIR. That’s because we’ve been in the business of managing massive amounts of safety and compliance data since we first opened our doors. CSA is simply a rule that has caught up with our technology.

We are justifiably proud of the many companies currently using the services that we provide for auditing Driver Log Documents, Driver Qualification Files, and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. We have taken our knowledge of data management and applied it to the development of a complete suite of services to aid clients in meeting the obligations now posed under the new CSA rules.

We have experience with CSA.

Many of our clients were part of the first test states for CSA . They have helped us understand what the real challenges are and—more important—the solutions necessary to survive under the new rule. Our suite of services is based on our knowledge of what is working for our own clients.

We work with the most current information.

The RAIR system imports violations and safety measurement data continuously. We report the most current data available and do it DAILY! We also pro-actively send daily scorecards and full reports informing clients of any critical changes that occurred during the previous 24 hours and that may require their attention. Timely information is critical for survival! For example:

  • You can quickly address the problems behind the violations.

Such as the drivers who “pencil-whip” their DVIRs so problems are caught at roadside inspections instead of at the terminal. Or, the maintenance employee who regularly fails to inflate tires to the proper pressure. Or, the back-office employee who hasn’t been keeping track of drivers’ medical exams.

  • You can avoid the “quicksand” of poor safety ratings

Reversing poor safety ratings is difficult. Poor ratings mark a fleet for ever closer scrutiny – more frequent and more intense (Level 1) inspections. Closer scrutiny uncovers more violations, which lead to more poor safety ratings. By addressing issues immediately, you can and must avoid falling into this trap.

  • You have limited time to correct errors.

Under CSA, all violations add points to your safety ratings. Violations that are inaccurate, belong to another fleet, or are duplicates all count unless you challenge them. The process of challenging violations is time consuming and must begin as soon as errors are identified.

RAIR – A Complete Solution.

Many companies are selling CSA scorecards. These reports offer important information, but are completely insufficient in helping you to avoid the many problems that the new CSA rule presents. Every violation recorded; whether or not it places a vehicle or driver out of service, counts against your safety rating. The implication that simply looking at a “scorecard” alone will help prevent violations at roadside inspections is simply incorrect. Scorecards, no matter how complete are useful but do not present a company with nearly enough information to assist in avoiding the penalties that can be imposed under the new CSA rule set.

The information included in the reports offered by the RAIR CSA solution will not only provide you with a scorecard, but also provide a complete breakdown and analysis of all violations so that actions taken by your company can be directed at actually solving the problem. Whether it is a violation that is common to your entire company, or simply a problem with a single driver who has a history of certain violations, you will know exactly what the problems are. This will allow you to take definitive action regarding the specific problem areas that have been identified. From the beginning of the RAIR CSA compliance program to the end, our goal is always to give you all of the information required that will allow your company to continuously make the necessary improvements in your fleet’s safety practices, so you never find that you are the subject of a “specific intervention” or, in the very worst case, declared “unfit.”

Our goal is to ensure that your 24-month safety history is continuously improving so that monies spent on improving your safety ratings are offset by savings in having less vehicles and/or drivers being placed out of service; or that you become subject to the time and money consumed in answering questions posed during an Intervention. As you read through the solutions offered by RAIR, we think you will find that our proven ability to handle masses of data has been used to present specific reports on exactly how your company is doing; and that the reports contain the information so very necessary in order to address the problems that have been specifically identified. The RAIR CSA program will allow you to quickly and accurately see the problems; and solve them before any disciplinary action is required.

We support our CSA solution with superior customer service.

Every company tells every potential client that they have excellent customer service. Customer Service is not something that a customer can really know until that customer really needs it – and then finds out that most of the claims that were made are simply not true. For RAIR, Customer Service is a true dedication and the pillar on which our entire company has been built. At RAIR, we have no automated answering system. A real person, located at our Wisconsin headquarters, will answer your customer service call. Each client is given a Customer Service Representative (CSR). who is their personal contact with our company. You will develop a relationship with your own customer service representative who will be available by direct dial phone or by e-mail. We even have after-hours emergency support.

We can save you money.

The cost of our service should easily be borne by your savings in labor, reduction in idle drivers and vehicles that have been placed out of service, decreased fines, lower insurance costs, and increased shipping contracts. We are committed to safeguarding your profitability and doing our very best to ensure that you will never be the subject of an intervention or an “unfit” rating.

We give you peace of mind.

At RAIR, we understand that CSA will magnify the compliance problems that already challenge your company. It is our job to help lighten this burden. Our solution will help ensure full compliance, and it will also serve as an insurance policy against interventions. We will do our best to immunize you against the greater scrutiny that accompanies poor safety ratings.
